Virgil McAfee was 92 years old when he passed away on that fateful day August 12, 2007. He was surrounded by his loving family as he peacefully departed this earth and enetered into a beautiful world to be with our Lord. Virgil was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. I will never forget the last time I heard him say in the smallest breaths he took a simple I love you. This was a man who would give you the shoes right off his feet if he felt that you needed them. He gave everything he had to everyone.
I guess now we shouldn't be selfish, and let him go and share his wonderful love and talent of playing the banjo and fiddle and tap dancing with others who have passed on. Although he is gone, he will always remain with us forever and will never be forgotten. We love you Appy, and we miss you!

I'm late in posting thses wishes to you my dear Appy. But please know that you were thought of and remembered. Its so hard to believe that its been nearly 2 years since your passing. I miss you so much. You are so loved and always will be. Until we meet again, I'll be looking to the Heavens and smiling, because I know that some day we will see each other again along with our beloved others who have passed along also. Thinking of you this Thanksgiving
We miss you so much Appy, there's not a day that goes by that your not in my thoughts. As this Thanksgiving day passes, I look at the last family photograph that was taken of all of us on our last Thanksgiving together in 2006. I hope you and Mamaw are getting along, I'm sure your both fussin with each other already. I love you so much and one day we will meet again. Happy Thanksgiving Appy!

As one year passes since your passing, we miss you more than ever. Our world just isn't the same anymore without you here. Not a day goes by that we don't think of you and what a special person you are. Our children will know who their great-grandfather was and you will never be forgotten.
